Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our brominated intermediates — from product specs to global shipping.

About Our Products

What are brominated intermediates and how are they used?

Brominated intermediates are organic compounds containing one or more carbon-bromine (C-Br) bonds, serving as essential building blocks in multi-step chemical synthesis. The C-Br bond is a versatile functional group for nucleophilic substitution, cross-coupling (Suzuki, Heck, Negishi), and Grignard reactions. They are used extensively in pharmaceutical API synthesis, agrochemical production, OLED materials, and specialty chemical manufacturing.

What types of brominated compounds does Honor Chemicals produce?

Our core product lines include: Bromoalkanes (C2-C16 linear and branched), Dibromoalkanes (C3-C5 α,ω-dibromides), Bromoalcohols and Bromoethers, Bromonitriles, Bromoalkenes, and Specialty Reagents (Hünig’s base, protected alcohols, alkenes). We produce 20+ catalog products and offer custom synthesis for non-catalog brominated compounds.

What industries use your brominated intermediates?

Four primary industries rely on our products: (1) Pharmaceutical — API synthesis for antiviral, oncology, CNS, and cardiovascular drugs; (2) Agrochemical — building blocks for fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides; (3) OLED & Electronics — high-purity precursors for organic light-emitting diodes and semiconductors; (4) Specialty Chemicals — flame retardants, surfactants, polymers, and water treatment chemicals.

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

We are an original manufacturer. Shanghai Honor Industrial Co., Ltd. is the exclusive export partner for our brominated compounds production facility in Ningxia, China. We control the entire supply chain from raw bromine sourcing through synthesis, purification, and quality control. No middlemen, no distributor markup — direct factory pricing.

Quality & Compliance

What quality certifications do you hold?

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified. Our quality management system includes full batch traceability, in-process QC testing at every synthetic step, and 3-year retention sample storage. Every shipment is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) with HPLC purity, GC assay, Karl Fischer water content, and melting point data. We can provide regulatory support documentation for REACH, FDA DMF, and other regional compliance requirements.

What quality documentation do you provide with each order?

Standard documentation package includes: Certificate of Analysis (COA), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS), and Technical Data Sheet (TDS). All documents are available in English; MSDS can be provided in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean upon request. Additional documentation (stability data, residual solvent analysis, heavy metal testing) available for pharmaceutical-grade orders.

Logistics & Shipping

How are brominated intermediates shipped internationally?

We ship per IMO dangerous goods regulations with UN-certified packaging. Our logistics team prepares all export documentation including Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGD), MSDS in required languages, Certificate of Origin, and commercial/customs invoices. We ship by sea freight (FCL/LCL) for bulk orders and air freight for time-sensitive deliveries. We export to global markets across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

What is the typical lead time and MOQ?

Lead time: 1-2 weeks for in-stock catalog products, 4-6 weeks for custom synthesis scale-up. MOQ: Typically 1 drum (25 kg) or 1 cylinder for catalog bromoalkanes. For specialty intermediates: 1-5 kg for initial trial orders. We accommodate smaller R&D quantities — contact us with your requirements and we will find a flexible solution.

Custom Synthesis

Can you provide custom synthesis services?

Yes — it’s one of our core capabilities. Our R&D team specializes in bromination, Grignard chemistry, cross-coupling (Suzuki/Heck/Negishi), and nucleophilic substitution. We handle the full scale range: gram-scale laboratory samples → kilogram pilot batches → metric-ton commercial production. Typical timeline: 48 hours for quote with synthetic route proposal, 2-4 weeks for R&D samples, 6-8 weeks for scale-up and commercial delivery.

How do I request a sample or quotation?

The fastest way: email info@honorchemicals.com or WhatsApp +86-13901720365. Please specify your target compound (name and CAS if known), desired quantity, purity requirements, and application context. This helps our technical team provide the most accurate quotation. We respond within 24 hours on business days.
